ARTIST IN THE SPOTLIGHT | Matthew Pinder

"Indie-folk" is not a genre that comes to mind when most people think "island" or "Bahamian" but Matthew's sound is part of a refreshing new wave sweeping across our pink-sand shores, redefining the very meaning of "Bahamian music" (check out the soulful sounds of last month's Kamilah). Matthew's style may stray far from the calypso-soca path carved before him but this has not discouraged him. In fact it’s done the opposite. Having recently recorded his first album, "Too Young to Understand”, we thought it would be an ideal time to check in!

Discover Cacique | The Hobby Horse Hall Race Track

Horse racing has a longstanding tradition in Great Britain, ever since 1711 when Queen Anne famously rode out from Windsor Castle to the field where Royal Ascot now takes place, and said, “This would be a fine place for a race." It was befitting, therefore, that the colonies should follow suit. Hobby Horse Hall Race Track, was built in 1792 near the Cable Beach site where Baha Mar resort is located today.

The Art of Tenting | 4 Tips For Choosing The Right Tent

Choosing the right tent is like choosing the right topping for your toast. It may seem simple, but then you are given options (and options within options!) - jam or marmalade (shredded or shredless?), marmite or vegemite (oh, I didn't realise there was a difference!), peanut butter (crunchy or smooth?) or cream cheese (have you seen the options in a New York Deli)? You get the picture. And we didn't even mention types of toast...

The Cacique TouCh | The 5 Secrets of Floral Design

Ikebana is the Japanese art of flower arranging. “Ike” meaning life or “arrange” and “bana” meaning flower. in Ikebana, the life / soul of each flower is kept alive through the arrangement, meaning that each flower, each stem, each blade of grass of withered seedpod has a purpose in creating a whole. Uh, oh… Here he goes waxing on, waxing off again. Am I suggesting that I am a black belt in floral arrangement? Maybe a green belt. After two decades in the industry, I am beginning to understand that true mastery - of floral design, karate, or table setting - comes with patience, meditation and reflection on the form.

Little Engine Curates International Leadership Forum

It is the first day of the North Star Meetings Group Leadership Forum, an annual networking event that brings the movers & shakers of the billion-dollar meetings, sports and motivation industries.
