The world’s luxury event and destination wedding leaders packed their straw hats, SPF 50 and their best dancing shoes and made for The Bahamas to be under one avant-garde roof, housing an unrivaled trio of hip hotels all eagerly awaiting the commencement of Engage!19 — an elevated wedding & events business summit like no other.
Engage Summits bring together leaders in the wedding and events industry, from celebrity planners to swanky lifestyle experts to modern entrepreneurs who bring a strategic spin to the table. The three-day soiree includes informative sessions, creatively themed explorations, talks by high-calibre peers and of course out-of-this-world parties! Engage is careful to ensure the mood is always collaborative, focusing activities on forging relationships and connections rather than brewing competitiveness. Engage summits attract a diverse audience of professionals from all corners of the wedding and event world and this time around our palm-fringed island capital was chosen to host and Cacique Events, Design & Production was called upon to make it magical.

WELCOME TO THE ISLANDS
The wedding and event industry elite spent three brimming days of inspiration, education, and celebration in our summery playground. Nothing short of ideal, the Engage attendees waltzed from one grand venue to the next without ever requiring ferriage. The Baha Mar trinity, Rosewood, SLS and Grand Hyatt hosted the entirety, all demonstrating a thing or two about fine island entertaining. Marrying the concept of opportune industry networking with glamorous partying all cast against our blissful, Bahamian palette, Engage was entirely unforgettable. In classic Cacique fashion, a bang was made indeed. Bedecked in all things glitz and glamour, the welcome party was only complete when the oversized, flower-laden frames had been fully suspended and the Monty Knowles’ hand-painted, glimmering nymphs had taken their rightful place on the floating pool pedestals. The dueling DJs spun their best tunes from opposing Junkanoo-inspired floats keeping with the overflowing energy in the crowd. Engage kicked off with an electrifying Junkanoo performance to give the global collective a chance to “catch the Bahamian spirit” and jive along with the colourful procession.

BREAKFAST WITH A VIEW
Following the wild welcome extravaganza, the team was tasked with designing a roof-top terrace breakfast where the world’s elite match-makers can conjure up tantalizing wedding/ event experiences with a side of toasted coconut pancakes and a birds eye view of the stirring island life below. Combining chic, island glamour with tasteful hints of the modern world, Cacique delivered a sun-soaked breakfast from which perfectly candid connections were formed. Met by rustic wooden tables, billowing sheer drapery and clustered tropical orchids, guests chose from the assorted bites or feasting their eyes on the watery vistas beyond.

There is a degree of magic that goes into just about every event and I can assure you Engage!19 was no exception. The “invisible strings” were hard at work maintaining the extraordinary for the client and attendees, not only in venue, design, décor and entertainment but in the flow and enchanting charm of the entire production. Like any great theatrical performance, it takes a team to pull off something seamless, drenched in tropical splendor. Engage -you were a whirlwind of whimsical fun and we look forward to when we meet again.
